After leaving Japan, he began to notice countless wonderful things about his homeland for the very first time.
And before long, he found himself wanting to bring Japanese culture into the world stage.
Ink wash painting was one of them.

In response Hiroshi Takane to his Publication
As Takane studied ink wash painting in preparation for Operation ONI, he began noticing one artist’s name over and over again.
Whether he searched for how to paint Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms, plum trees, or cats in ink wash style, he always ended up on the same Youtube channel.
That channel belonged to none other than Sho Hosokawa—now the Vice President of Studio ONI.
Every video left Takane with one clear impression:
“This man is a genius.”

The elegance and precision of Sho’s brushwork gave Takane goosebumps every single time.
And with each video, Takane’s resolve deepened—
I have to ask this man to join me.
Takane finally reached out and sent him the script and character designs.
The reply he received was passionate and sincere:
“If I can be of any help with my skills, I would be honored to contribute! I’ll give it everything I’ve got!”
And once again, those words gave Takane goosebumps.
