Life overseas became a journey of rediscovering the beauty of Japan.
As the saying goes, you only realize what you have once it’s gone.
After leaving Japan, he began to notice countless wonderful things about his homeland for the very first time.
And before long, he found himself wanting to bring Japanese culture into the world stage.
Ink wash painting was one of them.

After finalizing the story and settings, Takane moved on to selecting the character designer.
The selection process might have been a little unusual.
He kept the illustrations of the candidates open on his computer screen, always visible, and looked at them whenever he had a spare moment.

On days when he felt energetic, on days when he was tired, when he was in high spirits, when he was feeling down, bored, or busy—over the course of several months, he continued to gaze at everyone’s work through many emotions and situations.

About ten years ago.
Takane, now the CEO of Studio ONI, was going through a difficult time, facing one hardship after another, and spending his days in a daze.
One day, he happened to pick up a story he had written when he was 20 years old.

"Someday, when I become a professional, I'll turn this into a movie and walk the red carpet at international film festivals."
With that dream in his heart, he had written the story with great excitement.
